Construction has finished on a new mutual business centre built beside the 401 near the Cambridge water tower. The building houses the trade association for Ontario Mutuals – the Ontario Mutual Insurance Association (OMIA), as well as Farm Mutual Reinsurance Plan Inc. (FMRP) – one of only two Canadian refinance companies in existence.
OMIA provides services on behalf of Ontario Mutuals and out-of-province mutuals that include training & education, research, lobbing, product development, regulatory representation, statistical analysis, and marketing support.
FMRP is the primary reinsurance company for Ontario Mutuals and other similar mutual companies located across Canada.
This building has several green technologies, and is one of the most environmentally friendly commercial buildings in the Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge region.
